Dr. Christopher Ddamulira

Dr. Christopher Ddamulira is a Senior Science Officer at the Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST), a government agency mandated to develop strategies to integrate science and technology into the national development process.

He holds a PhD in Public Health and has over 10 years of experience in research coordination and management with several reputable organizations in Uganda such as CDC, TASO Uganda, Baylor Uganda, Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) at Makerere College of Health Sciences (Uganda) and Mildmay Uganda. Prior joining UNCST, Christopher worked a study coordinator for CDC study, Manager clinical and field services at TASO Uganda, member of Research Ethics Committee for a period of 8 years and Head of Research at Mildmay Institute of Health Sciences overseeing the implementation of the research strategy, research grants coordination and implementation in the communities. He has developed strong networking and partnership skills as we worked with WHO Africa to streamline clinical trials approval processes in Africa and Uganda during the peak of COVID-19. He has good knowledge of human subjects’ protection and regulatory framework at national and international level. Over time, the author has acquired skills in monitoring and follow up of customer satisfaction, teaching and learning, study budget, staff management and financial management. He will play the role as Co-Principal Investigator for UNCST.
